The bird was uncommon at the research station. The one specimen was from the cocoa. I saw two others in secondary growth on the edge of the forest. Indications were that the species was also breeding (see _O. sericeus_). Besides the above localities, I observed it 12 miles north of Kalabakan. This bird was one of the most common in the lower story of the primary forest.
