8. He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 JOHN IV, 20. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21. Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. EPH. V, 11. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 2 THESS. III, 6. But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you. 2 THESS. III, 14. And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. 15. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. 9. THE DUTY OF UNION WITH THE CHURCH. MATT. X, 32. Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. DEUT. XXVI, 17. Thou hast avouched the Lord this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice: 18. And the Lord hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments. ISAIAH XLIV, 5. One shall say, I am the Lord's; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and surname himself by the name of Israel. MATT. V, 14. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill can not be hid. 15. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. ROM. X, 9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. MARK XVI, 16. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. LUKE XXII, 19. And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 1 COR. XI, 26. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 1 JOHN IV, 15. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 2 TIM. II, 12. If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us.
