Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. JER. O house of David, thus saith the Lord; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings. ISAIAH I, 17. Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. PSALM XXXI, 8. And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room. 9. Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly. ISAIAH XVI, 3.
