The South Frieze is also published by the Stereoscopic Company, Nos. 53-97. FRAGMENTS OF THE PARTHENON SCULPTURES. Numerous small fragments of the Parthenon sculptures were taken from Athens either by Lord Elgin, or by travellers who visited Athens. Others have been more recently discovered in excavations on the Acropolis, or on its south slope, and are still at Athens. Casts of all such fragments, so far as they could be obtained, are now in the British Museum. As far as possible the fragments have been adjusted in their correct positions on the sculptures, and have been described in their respective places in this Catalogue. Of the remainder all the original marble fragments, and the most interesting of the casts, are exhibited in the Elgin Room, and are described below.
