The words I say to you, I say not on my own but from the Father who dwells in me. It is He who does the works. Either believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me, or, at least, believe me for the very works' sake. I tell you, He who believes in me will also do the works that I do. And greater works than these will he do also. Whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name I will do it. If you love me, keep my commandments. I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter to abide with you forever. This is the Spirit of truth which the world cannot receive because it will not see Him and will not know Him. But you will know Him for He will dwell with you and will be in you. I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you. In a little while the world will see me no more. But you will see me because I will live and you will live also. On that day you will know that I am in my Father, you are in me, and I am in you. He who has my commandments and keeps them, loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father. I will love him and show myself to him. Judas, not Iscariot, said to Him, Lord, how is it that you will show yourself to us and not to the world? Jesus answered and said, If a man loves me, he will keep my words and my Father will love him. We will come to him and make our abode with him. He who does not love me does not keep my words. The word you hear is not mine, but is from the Father who sent me. These things I tell you while I am yet with you. The Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things. He will explain all the things I have given you to remember. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said to you, I will go away and come again to you. If you love me then rejoice, because I am going to my Father who is greater than I am. And now I have told you beforehand so that, when it comes to pass, you will believe. After this, I will not say much to you, for the prince of this world has come. He has no power over me, but, what I do, I do so the world may know that I love the Father and do as the Father commanded me. Arise, let us go hence. 15. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit He takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, He prunes and purges so it may bring forth more fruit. Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abide in the vine, no more can you unless you abide in me.
