department of Vrania.
PORESCHKA Tributary of the Danube in a deep valley
between the Pekska and the Misosch
mountains. It gives its name to an
arrondissement of 11 communes, in Kraina.
PORTES DE FER (GYERDAP) “The Iron Gates” of the Danube, or passage
between the Balkans at the point where the
river leaves Servia. There is also a small
town of 3000 inhabitants. In the mountains
in the vicinity the wild cherry is found.
It is very rare, and is much sought after
for the manufactory of expensive furniture.
