respectfully petition Congress to pass a Law to establish A UNIFORM RATE OF POSTAGE, not to exceed ONE CENT ON NEWSPAPERS, and TWO CENTS on each PRE-PAID LETTER of half an ounce, for all distances; and for other corresponding reforms. P., bears date the 11th of June, 1847, and was made in pursuance of an order of the House, passed April 22, 1847.
