Minor punctuation errors have been fixed. Hyphenation has been made consistent. The author sometimes employed a writing style where a word is dropped from a phrase--for example, "Who gave it you?" rather than "Who gave it to you?", or "though ignorant who she was" rather than "though ignorant of who she was." All such instances are preserved as printed.
