With the rapid growth of parasitology there is also a growing demand for laboratory instruction in this field. The author’s greatest desire during the time that he has been engaged in teaching this subject has been to place the work upon a good systematic footing, giving it proper rank with other phases of applied biology. The exercises in this volume are based upon two standard courses given at the University of California during the last four years. These courses are Human Parasitology (first half-year) and Veterinary Parasitology (second half-year). Each exercise has had careful testing in the laboratory and is practical. The aim of this guide is to give the student a wide, practical view of the field, so that he may have a fair grasp of the general subject in its application to the health and well-being of man and beast.
