In September it participated in the operations against Riga. In December a number of men were detached in order to reinforce the 10th Bavarian Division. VALUE—1917 ESTIMATE. It remained on the Russian front from the time of its formation (January, 1917). It held the calm sector of Courlande in 1917; it occupied Livonia in 1918 (May).
