The Play, written in 1797, was originally entitled “Osorio.” It was brought out, revised, and re-named “Remorse,” at Drury Lane, on January 23, 1813, and had a run of twenty nights. The London _Times_ of January 25 said of the Prologue: “The Prologue was, we hope, by some ‘d--d good natured friend,’ who had an interest in injuring the play.
