| | |miles are through open bush, with
| | |river visible about ½ to 1 mile

| | |thicker and the road is crossed by
| | |small khors, and in places by
| | |cultivation zeribas. River
| | |invisible.

| | |Next 6 miles the bush gets more
| | |open again, and a line of small
| | |sand hills is seen along the river
| | |edge hiding it. Horses can be
| | |watered anywhere in this 6 miles.

| | |the trees cease on the east side
