"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread which came down from heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna and died. He who eats this bread will live for ever." 59 This he said in the synagogue as he taught in Capernaum. 60 Many of his disciples, when they heard it, said, "This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?" 61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples complained about this, he said to them, "Does this offend you? 62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray him. 65 And he said, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it has been granted to him by the Father." 66 From this time many of his disciples went back and no longer walked with him. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?" 68 Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 And we believe, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God." 70 Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?" 71 He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who was to betray him, though one of the twelve. 7 1 After this Jesus went about in Galilee; he would not go about in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him. 2 Now the Jews' feast of Tabernacles was at hand. 3 So his brothers said to him, "Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples may see the works you are doing. 4 For no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world." 5 For even his brothers did not believe in him. 6 Jesus said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify of it that its works are evil. 8 You go up to the feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come." 9 Having said this, he remained in Galilee. 10 But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly, but in secret. 11 The Jews were looking for him at the feast, and saying, "Where is he?" 12 And there was much complaining among the people about him. Some said, "He is a good man"; others said,
