[4] The Hindoos call a child _Bala_ till it attains the age of fifteen years old. From the sixteenth year to the fiftieth, _Youvuna_, or a state of youth, is supposed to continue. Each of these has several subdivisions; and in certain cases the period admits of variation, as appears to have been the case here. [5] The horse intended for the sacrifice.
