Bible. Gospels -- Harmonies, English
38 Then two robbers were crucified with him, one on the right and one
on the left. 39 And those who passed by hurled insults at him, wagging
their heads 40 and saying, "You who would destroy the temple and build
it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down
from the cross." 41 So also the chief priests, with the scribes and
elders, mocked him, saying, 42 "He saved others; he cannot save
himself. He is the King of Israel; let him come down now from the
cross, and we will believe in him. 43 He trusts in God; let God deliver
him now, if he desires him; for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'" 44 And
the robbers who were crucified with him also reviled him in the same
way.
45 Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was
darkness over all the land.
MK 15:22-33
22 And they brought him to the place called Golgotha (which means
the place of a skull). 23 Then they offered him wine mingled with
myrrh, but he did not take it. 24 And when they crucified him,
they divided his garments,
casting lots for them
to determine what each man should take.
25 And it was the third hour, when they crucified him. 26 And the
inscription of the charge written against him read:
THE KING OF THE JEWS.
27 And with him they crucified two robbers, one on his right and one on
his left. 29 And those who passed by hurled insults at him, wagging
their heads, and saying, "Aha! You who would destroy the temple and
build it in three days, 30 save yourself, and come down from the
cross!" 31 So also the chief priests mocked him among themselves with
the scribes, and said, "He saved others; he cannot save himself. 32 Let
the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we
may see and believe." Those who were crucified with him also reviled
him.
33 And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the
whole land until the ninth hour.
LK 23:33-45a
33 And when they came to the place called The Skull, there they
crucified him, and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the
left. 34 Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what
they do." And they divided his garments and cast lots. 35 And the
people stood watching; but even the rulers sneered at him, saying, "He
saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the
Chosen One." 36 The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering
him wine vinegar, 37 and saying, "If you are the King of the Jews, save
yourself." 38 There was also an inscription written over him:
THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
