Bible. Gospels -- Harmonies, English
2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the
Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the
door, and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his
clothes were white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and
became like dead men.
102.50 The Women Find the Stone Rolled away.
MK 16:3-4
3 And they [the women] asked each other, "Who will roll away the
stone from the door of the tomb for us?" 4 But when they looked up,
they saw that the stone, though it was very large, had been rolled
away.
LK 24:2
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.

103.10 Peter and John, on Hearing Mary Magdalene's Report of the Empty Tomb,
Investigate for Themselves.
JN 20:2-10
2 So she [Mary Magdalene] ran, and came to Simon Peter and the
other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have
taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid
him." 3 Peter therefore went out with the other disciple, and they were
going toward the tomb. 4 They both ran, but the other disciple outran
Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 And stooping to look in, he saw the
linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter
came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen
cloths lying there, 7 and the napkin that had been around his head, not
lying with the linen cloths, but folded up in a place by itself. 8 Then
the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in; and he
saw and believed. 9 For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that he
must rise from the dead. 10 Then the disciples went back to their
homes.
103.20 The Women at the Tomb See an Angel who Announces the
Resurrection.
MT 28:5-7
5 [The women entered the tomb] But the angel [who was sitting in
the tomb] said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you
seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for he has risen, as he
said. Come, see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his
disciples that he has risen from the dead. And behold, he is going
before you to Galilee; there you will see him. Behold, I have told
you."
MK 16:5-7
5 And entering the tomb, they [the women] saw a young man sitting
on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were alarmed. 6
But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth,
who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where
they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going
before you to
Galilee; there you will see him, as he told you."
LK 24:3
3 but when they [the women] went in they did not find the body of
