The New Testament of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.: The common English version, corrected by the final committee of the American Bible Union.
Bible. New Testament
(24)They therefore called a second time the man that was blind, and
said to him: Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner.
(25)He answered therefore: Whether he is a sinner, I know not; one
thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. (26)They therefore
said to him: What did he to thee? How opened he thine eyes? (27)He
answered them: I told you already, and ye did not hear. Wherefore
would ye hear again? Will ye also become his disciples? (28)They
reviled him, and said: Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses'
disciples. (29)We know that God has spoken to Moses; but this man we
know not, whence he is. (30)The man answered and said to them: Why
herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not whence he is, and he
opened mine eyes. (31)Now we know that God hears not sinners. But if
any one is a worshiper of God, and does his will, him he hears.
(32)Since the world began, it was not heard that any one opened the
eyes of one born blind. (33)If this man were not from God, he could do
nothing. (34)They answered and said to him: Thou wast altogether born
in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
(35)Jesus heard that they cast him out; and finding him, he said to
him: Dost thou believe on the Son of God? (36)He answered and said:
Who then is he, Lord, that I may believe on him? (37)And Jesus said to
him: Thou hast both seen him, and he it is that talks with thee.
(38)And he said: Lord, I believe. And he worshiped him.
(39)And Jesus said: For judgment came I into this world; that they who
see not may see, and that they who see may become blind. (40)And some
of the Pharisees who were with him heard these words, and said to him:
Are we also blind? (41)Jesus said to them: If ye were blind, ye would
not have sin. But now ye say: We see. Your sin remains!
X.
VERILY, verily, I say to you: He that enters not through the door into
the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a
robber. (2)But he that enters in through the door is a shepherd of the
sheep. (3)To him the porter opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and
he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. (4)And when he has
put forth all his own, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him,
for they know his voice. (5)And a stranger they will not follow, but
will flee from him; because they know not the voice of strangers.
(6)This parable spoke Jesus to them; but they understood not what
things they were which he spoke to them.
(7)Therefore said Jesus to them again: Verily, verily, I say to you, I
am the door of the sheep. (8)All who came before me are thieves and
robbers; but the sheep did not hear them. (9)I am the door. If any one
enter in through me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out and
find pasture. (10)The thief comes not but to steal, and to kill, and
to destroy. I came that they may have life, and that they may have it
abundantly.
