Of the rates advanced forty-four were in cases in which the prices had also advanced, and of the rates reduced forty-two applied to articles which had advanced in price. Even as to the commodities which had advanced in price, the average advance being over fifty-five per cent., money rates were advanced in but forty-four instances out of 204 and the average advance was but 13.77 per cent. and there were forty-two reductions in money rates, such reductions averaging 16.86 per cent.
