Siborne makes the following mention of this officer in his history:—“The ensign carrying the regimental colour of the 32nd was sev. wnded. Lt. Belcher, who commanded the left centre sub-division, took it from him. In the next moment it was seized by a French officer whose horse had just been shot under him. A struggle ensued between him and Lt. Belcher; but while the former was attempting to draw his sword, the covering colour-sergt.
