Nemausus

In Gallo-Roman religion, Nemausus was the local patron god of the Gallic oppidum of Nemausus, the hill-fort later refounded as a colonia under Roman rule, now Nîmes, France. His cultus was a focal point in the extensive cultural complex in the center of Nîmes, established no later than the 2nd century BC and continuing in the Roman era.
