ISAIAH XXVIII, 16. Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner-stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. 1 PETER II, 6. Wherefore also it is contained in the Scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner-stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner. EPH. III, 17. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5. Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. EPH. VI, 16. Above all, taking the shield of faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. PSALM XXVII, 13. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 1 TIM. IV, 10. For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those that believe. ACTS VI, 5.
