In this survey I shall consider the world as divided, according to its usual division, into four parts, _EUROPE, ASIA, AFRICA_, and _AMERICA_, and take notice of the extent of the several countries, their population, civilization, and religion. The article of religion I shall divide into Christian, Jewish, Mahometan, and Pagan; and shall now and then hint at the particular sect of them that prevails in the places which I shall describe.
