What testimony did Christ bear concerning His relation to the law and the prophets? “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” Matt. 5:17. NOTE.—“Christ kept the law. If He had ever broken it, He would have had to die for Himself; but because He was a Lamb without spot or blemish, His atoning death is efficacious for you and me. Gal. 3:24. 1. What is one of the uses of the law? “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for _by the law is the knowledge of sin_.” Rom. 3:20. 2.
