MAGNOLIA WARBLER.--_Dendroica maculosa._ Other name: "Black and Yellow Warbler." RANGE--Eastern North America, west to eastern base of Rocky Mountains; winters in Bahamas, Cuba (rare), eastern Mexico and Central America. NEST--Loosely put together, of fine twigs, coarse grasses, and dry weed-stalks, lined with fine black roots resembling horse hair. EGGS--Four, creamy white, spotted and blotched with various shades of reddish-brown, hazel and chestnut. ---- Page 191.
