"Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings,
and not one of them is forgotten before God?
But even the very hairs of your head are all
numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more
value than many sparrows."
(Luke 12.6, 7)
IV. Washing Feet—Well-known Eastern Custom
"Jesus knowing that the Father had given all
things into His hands, and that He was come
from God, and went to God; He riseth from
supper, and laid aside His garments; and took a
towel, and girded Himself. After that He poureth
water into a bason, and began to wash the
disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the
towel wherewith He was girded."
(John 13.3-5)

I. The Passover In Egypt
"And they shall take of the blood, and strike
it on the two side posts and on the upper door
post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
And the blood shall be to you for a token where
ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over
you, and the plague shall not be upon you to
destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt."
(Exod. 12.7, 13)
II. The Firstborn Slain
"And it came to pass, that at midnight the
Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt,
from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his
throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was
in the dungeon: and all the firstborn of cattle.
And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all
his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there
was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a
house where there was not one dead."
(Exod. 12.29, 30).
III. Isaac and Rebekah
"And Isaac came from the way of the well
Lahairoi; for he dwelt in the south country.
And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at
the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw,
and, behold, the camels were coming. And
Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw
Isaac, she lighted off the camel."
(Gen. 24.62-64)
IV. Young King Joash
"Then they brought out the king's son, and
put upon him the crown, and gave him the
testimony, and made him king. And Jehoiada
and his sons anointed him, and said, God save
the king."
(2 Chron. 23.11)
V. Peter at the Fire
"But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by
the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and
said, This man was also with Him. And he
denied Him, saying, Woman, I know Him not."
(Luke 22.56, 57)
