-------------- We have made a new departure in the publication of medical books. As you no doubt know, many of the large treatises published, which sell for four or five or more dollars, contain much irrelevant matter of no practical value to the physician, and their high price makes it often impossible for the average practitioner to purchase anything like a complete library. Believing that short practical treatises, prepared by well known authors, containing the gist of what they had to say regarding the treatment of diseases commonly met with, and of which they had made a special study, sold at a small price, would be welcomed by the majority of the profession, we have arranged for the publication of such a series, calling it The Physicians' Leisure Library. This series has met with the approval and appreciation of the medical profession, and we shall continue to issue in it books by eminent authors of this country and Europe, covering the best modern treatment of prevalent diseases.
