Nos. 1, 2, and 3 serve as cannoneers; Nos. 4 and 5 attend animals. =Equipments.=--Gunner and No. 1, primer-pouches; Nos. 2 and 3, cartridge-pouches. =Duties.=--The gunner commands, attaches and detaches the pole, sets the sight, points, and superintends the service of the ammunition. No. 1 mans right wheel, controls brake-rope, opens and closes breech, and fires piece. No. 2 mans the left wheel, controls brake-rope, introduces the ammunition into the bore, and assists in pointing.
