Perhaps the most interesting trip out of Boston, except the one through the historic towns of Concord and Lexington, is out along the Massachusetts coast to Cape Ann and return. The first part of the run is not as interesting as it might be, but after passing Lynn, ten or twelve miles out from the city, you reach a good road and pleasant scenery, which keep up all the way to the Cape. Perhaps the best plan is to ride to Gloucester, have dinner there, then take the ride around the Cape back to Gloucester, and come back to Boston by train, or stay overnight at Gloucester, and ride home next day.
