(Signed) JAMES PREVOST. _Major of Brigade._ The Royal authority was afterwards received for the FORTY-SIXTH to bear the word "DOMINICA" on the regimental colour and appointments, "as a distinguished mark of the good conduct and exemplary valour displayed by that regiment in the defence of the Island of Dominica, against a very superior French force, on the 22nd of February, 1805."
