The stained glass windows in the chapel were given by Elizabeth Mooney, Mary Freel, Anna Sullivan and Hannah St. Lawrence. The number of Catholics in the city is estimated at 20,000, more than one-third of the population. The church was dedicated on the 31st of July, 1870.
