Water Supply. A study of the methods used to investigate the water supply needs of a community; the selection of the required supply and the design of the collection works. A study of the principles of sanitary science and public health subdivided as follows: Public Health. A study of the engineering control of communicable diseases through the proper collection, treatment and disposal of municipal wastes; the provision of safe water, milk and foods; the control of rodents and insects; the sanitation of public buildings; housing; and industrial hygiene. Hydrology. A study of the principles of hydrology with particular emphasis on their application to problems of water supply and storm water disposal. Computations and designs are carried out in connection with the study of the water resources of a particular stream. Water Supply. A study of the methods followed by engineers in investigating the water supply needs of a community; the location of the required supply; the determination of the proper means of conveying the water to the community; and the design and construction of works in connection with water supply development. Sewerage.
