This brave knight perished on the scaffold in
England at the time of the Reformation (vide
"N. & Q.," Vol. vii., p. 628.); was enrolled among
the Saints; and his portrait, with a sprig of palm
in the hand, as an emblem of his martyrdom, is
now to be seen in one of the chapels of St. John's
Church at this island. The 8th of July is the
day now observed in commemoration of his sufferings,
and of those who suffered with him.
