[10] Field IV covers the position of a group of 18 small nebulae
announced by E. E. Barnard in _Astronomische Nachrichten_, 125, 369,
1890. The positions there given were rough estimations from the stars
B.D. +56°.1679 and B.D. +56°.1682. On the photographs, the nebulae
in this region are so small and so crowded that I have been able to
identify only three individuals of the group. Barnard’s Nos. 4, 7, and
18 are very probably my Nos. 41, 43, and 62.

N.G.C. 5278 and 5279 form a double nebula, somewhat
similar to Messier 51. 5278 is the nucleus and 5279
is at the tail of the arm. The spiral apparently
has but one branch.
