_Acts 8:26, 29._ THEN Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, . . . Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. _Acts 4:8, 13._ *Conditions of receiving the Spirit.* *Obeying.* AND we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that *obey him*. _Acts 5:32._ *Asking*. IF ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that *ask him*. _Luke 11:13_ *Receiving*. THEREFORE I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye *receive* them, and *ye shall have them*. _Mark 11:24._ Hypocrites. *Too many IN THE CHURCH.* One usually finds that the person who sees the short comings in others, before he sees his own, is the *real hypocrite*. The word of God contains some very plain language addressed to *this class* and they will do well to read it. SO then every one of us shall give an account of *himself* to God. _Romans 14:12._ THEREFORE *thou art inexcusable*, O man, whosoever thou art that *judgest*: for wherein thou judgest another, *thou condemnest thyself*; for thou that judgest *doest the same things*. . . . And *thinkest thou* this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou *shalt escape the judgment of God*? _Romans 2:1, 3._ BUT why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall *all stand before the judgment seat of Christ*. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every *knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God*. So then everyone of us *shall give account of himself to God*. _Romans 14:10-12._ JUDGE *not, that ye be not judged*. For with what judgment *ye judge, ye shall be judged*: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be *measured to you again*. And why beholdest thou the mote that is *in thy brother’s eye*, but considerest not the beam that is in *thine own eye*? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote *out of thine eye*; and behold, a beam is in *thine own eye*? *Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye*; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
