If you want this evidence *you must believe God’s word*. If you do not, you are making God a liar, and this will prevent the Spirit from working in you. He that believeth not God hath *made Him a liar*; because he *believeth not the record* that God gave of His Son. And this *is the record*, that God *hath given* to us eternal life. _I John 5:10-11._ Illustration: Luke 1:10 Backslider. *God’s WARNING to the backslider* NOW the just shall live by faith: but *if any man draw back*, my soul shall have *no pleasure in him*. _Hebrews 10:38._ FOR it had *been better* for them *not to have known* the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, *to turn from the holy commandment* delivered unto them. _II Peter 2:21._ THEREFORE to him that *knoweth* to do good, and *doeth it not*, to him *it is sin*. _James 4:17._ TAKE heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in *departing from the living God*. _Hebrews 3:12._ I HAVE overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were *as a firebrand plucked out of the burning:* yet *have ye not returned* unto me, saith the Lord.
