The entry of title is connected with the following specification: _Atque ab hoc tempore conquievit haec libros excommunicandi ratio usque ad A. D. 1543, quo primus Scriptorum interdictorum Index Generalis prodiit Venetiis, quem plures postea secuti sunt_. The previous reference had been to the decree of Gelasius of 493.
