The above account was published in a newspaper printed on board, and gives a very thorough account of the routine. This, of course, varied in different ships and under different captains, but in the main points the methods of the best lines were the same. On the passage during which the foregoing account was written, the _Eagle_ went out from Liverpool to Hobson’s Bay in 80 days, her best 24 hours’ run being 315 miles.
