Alford about twenty-five years ago, while doing mission work in Mississippi. Rev. Charles Long was one of the first colored men to begin teaching and preaching after the war. He stands as an honest business man, as well as preacher of the gospel. BROWNVILLE ASSOCIATION. Organized in 1883, is a small body composed of about twenty churches, which have the following post offices: Phenix City, Gerard, Motts, Columbus, Ga., Hatchechubbee, Ladonia, Crawford, Uchee.
