Growing in large beds along roadsides and in moist woodlands. _Nephrodium Boottii_ Davenp. Frequent in damp woods throughout the State. _Nephrodium cristatum_ Michx. Crested fern. Common in swampy grounds. _Nephrodium cristatum Clintonianum_ Gilbert. Growing generally with the type. _Nephrodium fragrans_ Rich. Fragrant Fern.
