In addition to the ordinary monthly prizes THREE SPECIAL PRIZES are offered for the best solutions of the whole series. The first Special Prize will be THREE GUINEAS; the second Special Prize, TWO GUINEAS, and the third Special Prize, ONE GUINEA. A careful record of mistakes will be kept, and these prizes will be awarded to those competitors who perpetrate the fewest in all three puzzles. If a winner of one of these prizes has already received an ordinary prize in the series, the amount of the smaller prize will be deducted.
