Pearls which were given to Mrs. Sarah York Jackson, wife of Andrew Jackson, Jr., by President Jackson, when she went to the White House as a bride in 1831. She wore them to receptions given in her honor as a bride and also later as lady of the White House. The pearls have adorned seven brides in the immediate Jackson family.
