It received its title when raised from every man being armed with a fuzil, instead of a pike or musket. It is not known when its facings were changed to Blue, but probably before 1700. It bears the “White Rose within the Garter,” and “the White Horse.” It was commonly known as “the English Fuziliers” when raised. EIGHTH FOOT.
