John Shaqi

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلا غَشِيَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَفِي الْبَيْتِ صَبِيٌّ مُسْتَيْقِظٌ يَرَاهُمَا وَيَسْمَعُ كَلامَهُمَا وَنَفَسَهُمَا مَا أَفْلَحَ أَبَداً إِذَا كَانَ غُلاماً كَانَ زَانِياً أَوْ جَارِيَةً كَانَتْ زَانِيَةً وَكَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيْهِما السَّلام) إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَغْشَى أَهْلَهُ أَغْلَقَ الْبَابَ وَأَرْخَى السُّتُورَ وَأَخْرَجَ الْخَدَمَ.


Translation

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Husayn ibn Zayd from his father who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘By the One in whose Hand is my soul, if a man overwhelms his wife (engages in sexual intercourse) when there is a child in the house who is awake, sees and hears them speaking and their breathing, the child will not escape, a boy or girl, their involvement in fornication.’ Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, whenever, he intended to overwhelm his wife, would close the door, pull down the curtains and send the servants out.’”
