محمد بن یحییٰ، احمد بن محمد سے، وہ حسین بن سعید سے، وہ حماد بن عیسیٰ سے، وہ حسین بن المختار سے، وہ زید الشحّام سے، وہ ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے ان سے علیہ السلام عرض کیا: “ہمارے ہاں ایک آدمی ہے جسے کلیب کہا جاتا ہے۔ آپ کی طرف سے جو بھی بات آتی ہے وہ کہتا ہے: ‘میں تسلیم کرتا ہوں۔’ تو ہم نے اسے کلیبِ تسلیم نام دیا۔” انہوں نے فرمایا: پھر انہوں نے اس پر رحمت کی دعا کی، پھر فرمایا: “کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ تسلیم کیا ہے؟” تو ہم خاموش رہے۔ پھر فرمایا: “اللہ کی قسم، وہ اخبات ہے۔” اللہ عز و جل کا ارشاد: “وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے، اور نیک اعمال کیے، اور اپنے رب کے سامنے عاجزی اختیار کی۔”

Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al Husayn Bin Saeed, from Hammad Bin Isa, from Al Husayn Bin Al Mukhtar, from Zayd Al Shahham, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws, said, ‘I said to him^asws, ‘Among us there is a man called Kuleyb. So there does not come anything from you^asws except that he says, ‘I submit’. So we named him as ‘Kuleyb the submitter’. So (the Imam^asws) paid tribute to him, then said: ‘Do you know what the submission is?’ So we were silent. So he^asws said: ‘It, by Allah^azwj, is the humbleness in the Words of Allah^azwj Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:11#h23"><a href="/books/quran:11#h23">[11:23]</a></a> Surely, the ones who believe and do righteous deeds and humble themselves to their Lord</span>’.
