وُلِدَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا جَارِيَةٌ فَدَخَلَ عَلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) فَرَآهُ مُتَسَخِّطاً فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَ رَأَيْتَ لَوْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى أَوْحَى إِلَيْكَ أَنْ أَخْتَارُ لَكَ أَوْ تَخْتَارُ لِنَفْسِكَ مَا كُنْتَ تَقُولُ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ تَخْتَارُ لِي قَالَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدِ اخْتَارَ لَكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ الْغُلَامَ الَّذِي قَتَلَهُ الْعَالِمُ الَّذِي كَانَ مَعَ مُوسَى ( عليه السلام ) وَ هُوَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَأَرَدْنا أَنْ يُبْدِلَهُما رَبُّهُما خَيْراً مِنْهُ زَكاةً وَ أَقْرَبَ رُحْماً أَبْدَلَهُمَا اللَّهُ بِهِ جَارِيَةً وَلَدَتْ سَبْعِينَ نَبِيّاً .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from a number of our companions, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Bin Yusuf, from Al Hassan Bin Saeed Al Lakhmy who said, ‘A girl was born unto a man from our companions. So he went over to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>. So he<sup>asws</sup> saw him as being angered. So Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said to him: ‘What is your view if Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Blessed and High were to Reveal unto you that He<sup>azwj</sup> Chooses for you, or you choose for yourself, what would you be saying?’ He said, ‘I would be saying, ‘O Lord<sup>azwj</sup>! You<sup>azwj</sup> Choose for me’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘So Allah<sup>azwj</sup> has Chosen for you’. He (the narrator) said, ‘Then he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The boy whom the scholar (Al-Khizr<sup>as</sup> killed whilst being with Musa<sup>as</sup>, and these are the Words of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:18#h81"><a href="/books/quran:18#h81">[18:81]</a></a> So we desired that their Lord might Give them in his place one better than him in purity and nearer to having compassion</span>. Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Replaced him by a girl who gave birth to seventy Prophets<sup>as</sup>’.
