قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنِّي وَ اللَّهِ مَا أَدْرِي كَانَ أَبِي عَقَّ عَنِّي أَمْ لَا قَالَ فَأَمَرَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) فَعَقَقْتُ عَنْ نَفْسِي وَ أَنَا شَيْخٌ وَ قَالَ عُمَرُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مُرْتَهَنٌ بِعَقِيقَتِهِ وَ الْعَقِيقَةُ أَوْجَبُ مِنَ الْأُضْحِيَّةِ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Musa Bin Sa’adan, from Abdullah Bin Al Qasim, from Abdullah Bin Sinan, from Umar Bin Yazeed who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘By Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! I do not know whether my father had performed <span class="iTxt">Aqeeqa</span> from me of not’. So Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> ordered me, so did <span class="iTxt">Aqeeqa</span> from myself, and I am an old man’. And Umar (the narrator) said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘Every person is a pledgee with his <span class="iTxt">Aqeeqa</span>, and the <span class="iTxt">Aqeeqa</span> is more Obligatory than the sacrifice’.
