John Shaqi

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً فَأَغْلَقَ بَاباً وَ أَرْخَى سِتْراً وَ لَمَسَ وَ قَبَّلَ ثُمَّ طَلَّقَهَا أَ يُوجِبُ عَلَيْهِ الصَّدَاقَ قَالَ لَا يُوجِبُ عَلَيْهِ الصَّدَاقَ إِلَّا الْوِقَاعُ.


Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Fazal, from Yunus Bin Yaqoub who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about a man who married a woman, so he locked the door, and pulled the curtain, and touched, and kissed. Then he divorced her. Is the dower Obligated upon him?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The dower is not Obligated upon him except by the copulation’.
