سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُرْسِلُ الْكَلْبَ عَلَى الصَّيْدِ فَيَأْخُذُهُ وَ لَا يَكُونُ مَعَهُ سِكِّينٌ يُذَكِّيهِ بِهَا أَ يَدَعُهُ حَتَّى يَقْتُلَهُ وَ يَأْكُلَ مِنْهُ قَالَ لَا بَأْسَ قَالَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَكُلُوا مِمَّا أَمْسَكْنَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ لَا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يُؤْكَلَ مِمَّا قَتَلَ الْفَهْدُ .

ہمارے کئی اصحاب نے سہل بن زیاد اور علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے اور محمد بن یحیٰ نے احمد بن محمد سے، سب نے مل کر احمد بن محمد بن ابی نصر سے، انہوں نے جمیل بن دراج سے روایت کی، انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے اس شخص کے بارے میں سوال کیا جو کتے کو شکار پر بھیجتا ہے اور وہ اسے پکڑ لیتا ہے لیکن اس کے پاس کوئی چھری نہیں ہوتی کہ اسے ذبح کر سکے۔ کیا وہ اسے چھوڑ دے یہاں تک کہ کتا اسے مار دے اور پھر اس میں سے کھائے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: کوئی حرج نہیں۔ اللہ عزوجل نے فرمایا ہے: جو وہ تمہارے لیے پکڑیں، اس میں سے کھاؤ [5:4] اور جو چیتے نے مارا ہو، اسے کھانا مناسب نہیں۔
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, and Ali Bin Ibrahim, from is father, and Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, altogether from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abu Nasr, from Jameel Bin Darraj who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the man who sent his dog upon the prey, so it seized it, and there did not happen to be a knife with him to slaughter it with. Can he leave it until it (the dog) kills it and (then) he eats from it?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘There is no problem. Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Says <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:5#h4"><a href="/books/quran:5#h4">[5:4]</a></a> so eat from what which they catch for you</span>, and it is not befitting if you eat from what the leopard kills’.
