كَتَبْتُ إِلَى الرِّضَا ( عليه السلام ) السَّمَكُ لَا يَكُونُ لَهُ قِشْرٌ أَ يُؤْكَلُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مِنَ السَّمَكِ مَا يَكُونُ لَهُ زَعَارَّةٌ فَيَحْتَكُّ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَتَذْهَبُ قُشُورُهُ وَ لَكِنْ إِذَا اخْتَلَفَ طَرَفَاهُ يَعْنِي ذَنَبَهُ وَ رَأْسَهُ فَكُلْهُ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Salih Bin Al Sandy, from Yunus who said, ‘I wrote to Al-Reza<sup>asws</sup>, ‘The fish which does not happen to have scales on it, can I eat?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘From the fishes which happens to have evilness for it, so it attaches with everything, so its scales go away, but when its sides are different, meaning its tail and its head, so eat it’.
