قُلْتُ لِأَبِي الْحَسَنِ يَعْنِي مُوسَى بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) أَ يَحِلُّ أَكْلُ لَحْمِ الْفِيلِ فَقَالَ لَا قُلْتُ وَ لِمَ قَالَ ( عليه السلام ) لِأَنَّهُ مَثُلَةٌ وَ قَدْ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ الْأَمْسَاخَ وَ لَحْمَ مَا مُثِّلَ بِهِ فِي صُوَرِهَا .

علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے عمرو بن عثمان سے، انہوں نے حسین بن خالد سے روایت کی کہ انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو الحسن — یعنی موسیٰ بن جعفر علیہ السلام — سے پوچھا: کیا ہاتھی کا گوشت کھانا حلال ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: نہیں۔ میں نے کہا: کیوں؟ آپ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: کیونکہ یہ مسخ شدہ ہے، اور اللہ عزوجل نے مسخ شدہ جانوروں اور ان جانوروں کے گوشت کو حرام کیا ہے جنہیں ان کی صورتوں میں مسخ کیا گیا ہو۔
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, form his father, from Amro Bin Usman, from Al Husayn Bin Khalid who said, ‘I said to Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup>, meaning Musa<sup>asws</sup> Bin Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, ‘Is it Permissible to eat the meat of the elephant?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘No’. I said, ‘And why?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Because it is a resemblance, and Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic has Prohibited the morphed ones, and the meat of what has been transformed by it in its image’.
